Steps and Swim Outs
In recent years manufactures of stairs have begun
to offer more variety in the shape of the stairs the build. This
has come after a realization that many pool owners tend to use the
step area as a lounging area and as a seat. Companies have begun
to offer these steps with seats molded into parts of the mold. The
have also begun manufacturing love seats, loungers and spa seats.
These sections are inserted in place of a wall panel and the pool
liner is removed from this area.
We offer over 20 different step choices from several
manufacturers. When installing a specialty step we make extra plumbing
accommodations to further the enjoyment of this option. Things like
control jetted seats and heat-designated seats make the in pool
step a "spa-like" experience.

Automatic Pool
Cleaners
We offer all major brand automatic cleaners. (Jason
how about we put some logos and brand names as links to manufactures
web sites?) We recommend units that are a suction operated units
like Kreepy Krauly and the Sta Rite ® Great White. These units
are connected by hose to the skimmer suction line and by that force
propel themselves around the pool while vacuuming up all types of
debris. Other units like the Original Aquabot® use an electrically
charged motor to drive a self-contained system around the floor
and walls to vacuum up debris. While pool sweeps like the Arneson
Sweep ® actually just use forced water to stir up debris until
it is caught by the skimmer or main drain.

Heaters and Heat Pumps
We offer all major brand pool heaters. Whether
your are using of a Natural Gas or a propane heater we have will
size a heater that is just right for your pool. Both Electric ignition
and Pilot lit are available for your pool. While all of these style
units offer quick heating times non of them are as efficient as
a electric Heat Pump.

Salt Generators
In addition to all major brand electric and passive
ionization systems, as well as automatic chlorinators and chemical
feeders we are happy to offer Salt Generators. We have been installing
electrically charged ionizers and ozone systems since 1985.
While electrically charged ionizers offer some
chemical reduction and water stability, passive ionizers offer little
conservation if any.
- Electrically hooked up Ionizers do a fair job
at sanitizing the water however the need for oxidation results
in having to add 80% of the chemicals you are hoping to eliminate.
Unfortunately independent Ozonators are not yet capable of oxidizing
that volume of water.
- The passive ionizer offers little sanitization
and oxidtion. These units are usually sold in conjunction with
a chlorine tablet dispenser. That in and of itself should make
the pool owner ask what value it brings if it needs to be installed
with a chlorinator
Enter The Salt Generator
Salt Generators, however, truly eliminate all
need for chemicals in sanitization and oxidation.
The system uses a series of special metal cells that produce Chlorine
gas from dissolved Salt.
The pool owner dissolves salt into the pool water.
It is required to keep a salt level of 2500 ppm (Part Per Million)
in the pool water. This is a low level of salt considering the oceans
contain 35,000 ppm salt and contact lens solution contains 6,000
ppm salt.
The only time this salt needs to be replaced is
if you dilute the pool by adding significantly more water. (i.e.
end of season lowering of water level, heavy rainfall, excessive
splash out) On average, most pool owners have to add salt in the
beginning of the season and maybe once during the season. At both
times people will use between 50 and 250 lbs of salt. On average
50 lbs of salt is less than $6.00. It is the same salt as used in
household water softeners.
Salt is made up of sodium Chloride (NaCl). It
is from the chloride that the chlorine gas is generated.
How It Works
As the salt solution pool water is passing through
the pump system it travels over a series of metal cells that produce
the low level of chlorine gas, which is mixed in with the traveling
water and is eventually mixed in with the pool water. This system
produces the approximate equivalent of 1.5 lbs of granular chlorine
per day. This will maintain a 1.5 ppm chlorine level everyday the
filter runs. Pool and spa industry standards ask for anywhere from
1 - 3 ppm of chlorine. (it is not uncommon for commercial pools
to be about 5 - 6 ppm chlorine) If you prefer a lower level of chlorine
the control box offers you the ability to set the amount of chlorine
you wish to produce in your pool. In addition the control box informs
you if the cells are loosing their strength and if the salt level
is too low.
Benefits
Aside from the concept of not having to add chemicals,
the biggest benefit the salt generator offers is the way in which
the chlorine is added. Granular and liquid chlorines are like any
other product you buy. Partly the raw element and then most "inert"
materials. Both the inert materials and the solid form of chlorine
emit by-products when mixed with water.
When chlorine tablets or granular chlorine are
dissolved they instantly lower the overall pH of the pool water.
Low pH in pool water is the main reason for eye irritation in swimming
pools. The pH of the human eye is about 7.5 when you sway to high
or low from that the eye is irritated. With a salt generator the
chlorine goes directly from gas into being mixed with the pool water,
this results in less pH "bounce" than traditional methods.
When chlorine tablets are dissolved in water the
give off a strong odor and can cause bleaching. With a Salt Generator
you reduce the chloramines (or useless chlorine particles) that
cause these characteristics.
Unlike with traditional methods of adding chlorine
where you wind up with a high residual of Total Chlorine and a low
level of Free Available Chlorine (Which is what you need to attack
algae and bacteria), salt generators produce only free available
chlorine to be 100% efficient.
Something else to keep in mind. No need for chlorine
tablets means that you won't have to handle this harsh abrasive
chemical, nor will you have to be concerned about it being in the
pool with you and your children.

Safety Covers
Regardless of your decking choice this style
winter cover is a must have. This cover is secured to the decking
area and is spread across the pool's surface; since the cover is
taut across the pool it never sags of looks messy. Since the cover
is a mesh it allows rainwater to drain though allowing leaves to
dry up and blow off the cover on the next sunny day.
Pool Owners who have used "water bag"
style covers swear that a safety cover is the best investment in
the pool and yard that they have ever made. In addition to keeping
the backyard presentable, the most important feature the cover offers
is safety.
The covers strength is more than able to support
many adults, animals and pets. While the cover does not replace
the need for attention to pool safety, it does offer a piece of
mind that nothing can go though the cover
Not even an elephant.

Solar covers and
Rollers
If you are using a pool heater of not it is a
good idea to use a solar blanket to keep warmth in the pool. While
these covers do not add much heat to the pool, if used properly
they can retain a good deal of the heat you either add through a
traditional heater or simply by allowing the sun to heat up the
water during the day you trap the heat in at night by covering the
pool. For those who use heaters it is recommended you keep the blanket
on most of the time. A solar roller allows one person to remove
and store the cover. The roller also keeps the cover clean and algae
free. When a cover is pulled off the pool without a roller it not
only collects dirt and grass on it (which eventually gets back into
the pool) but it also can hold small puddles of water which can
grow algae if not cleaned of before going back on the pool.

Fiber Optics
Lighting is a wonderful feature to add to the
pool. We offer the top brand Fiberstar® lighting system. We
offer both spotlights as well as perimeter lighting. Our inground
light package uses the largest strand optic available so that it
delivers the brightest light possible. Depending on the size and
shape of the pool we can also install multiple lights. Our inground
light package also includes a multi-colored light wheel system and
an optional control system.
All of these light systems are intended as atmosphere
lighting only and will not replace the need for outdoor lighting
by the pool area.

Waterfalls and Plumbing
Options
We offer a variety of waterfall and rock features.
All of these systems work with a waterline fed from the pool's filter
system. Even if this is not something for today but for the future,
we are happy to make the accommodation for the waterlines now.
